The College is currently offering two full time Healthcare Programmes:
These programmes commence in September each year.
The Healthcare support or Nursing Studies combined programme is at FETAC Level 5. Learners who participate on this programme will complete 10 individual modules; they can then choose which major award they wish to apply for. Learners can only apply for one of the awards. This means the programme will appeal to learners who wish to become care assistants and those that wish to progress to nursing at third level.
The Advanced Certificate in Supervisory Management Skills programme is at FETAC Level 6. This programme will suit learners who have already completed a major award at Level 5 and who wish to enhance their skills so they can take up a supervisory management post. Employers are already moving towards the concept of a care assistant supervisory level post.
The College believes these programmes will give the learner an excellent career path in the Healthcare sector and a head start in seeking employment. During the programme there will be extensive work experience periods where the learner will have the opportunity to meet prospective employers and to demonstrate their skills and competence. The College is looking to attract and train well motivated individuals who on successful completion of the programme will be seen by employers as a person who will benefit their business and who will operate to the highest standards.
