The College of Progressive Education is one of the leading providers of FAS - CDP funded healthcare programmes. Due to the controls on government spending FAS are not currently releasing funds for FETAC Level 5 & 6 CDP programmes. However we would ask you to send us your contact details and the name of the programme you would like to attend with the ideal location for you so that when funds are released we can contact you to arrange a programme. (Contact us)
Under the FAS CDP funding arrangements programmes are funded by 70%/75% depending on the location within Ireland. This leaves 30%/25% to be funded by the individual or by the individual and their employer. Learners must be employed as carers in private Nursing Homes/Hospitals to qualify for the FAS funding.
These programmes provide Learners with an excellent opportunity to upgrade their skills at a very reasonable cost. The new regulations which are due to be passed soon make it mandatory for nursing homes to have at least 50% of their care assistants trained to FETAC Level 5. So now is the time to get trained while there is funding to help cover the costs of your training.
The purpose of these programmes is to offer Learners who are currently in employment as carers the opportunity to achieve an internationally recognised FETAC qualification and to upgrade their skills in the workplace.
