The Advance Certificate in Management FETAC Level 6 BMANX is a major award made up of eight credits. The College Creche Management  programme uses the following component certificates from this major award:

The remaining credit can be obtained using one or more  components from Level 5 or 6. It is anticipated that learners participating on this programme will have completed the Certificate in  Early Childhood Care and Education FETAC Level 5 DCHSC or the Advanced Certificate in Supervision in Childcare FETAC Level 6 DCXXX or the six component certificates in Montessori FETAC Level 6.

This Course in Crèche/Nursery Management is designed for people who are in management or supervisory positions in day-care situations, or for those who wish to prepare themselves for promotion to such positions

• Ensure that the management/supervisory worker gains a firm grasp of general management theory as well as understanding its practical application in the childcare setting
• Serve as a framework in which learners can acquire the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to be competent in management/supervisory positions
• Give opportunities for the management/supervisory worker or trainee to demonstrate competence
• Promote good practice in childcare management and supervisory practice

• Learners are expected to be currently working in a day nursery or crèche or available for work experience, and they should preferably have sucessfully completed the Certificate in Early Childhood Care and Education FETAC Level 5 or the Advanced Certificate in Supervision in Chldcare FETEC Level 6 or six Component Certificates in Montessori FETAC Level 6 or three years relevant work experience.
• It is expected that learners not yet in management/supervisory positions will be given opportunities by their manager to develop their management skills. PLEASE NOTE THIS IMPORTANT POINT.
• Applicants must be over the 20 years of age.
• Applicants should submit an up-to-date CV, photocopies of qualifications (if any) and a short written summary of career to date.  Applicants may also be asked to come for an interview. (Please do not send originals of certificates)

Learners are required to obtain a minimum of 120 hours work experience during the course and are expected to carry out some of the assignments in the workplace.

Continuous Assessment including work-based assignments, change management report and reflective views. Refer to each individual syllabus for specific details.

Distance Learning:
14 Months and 9 Saturdays
