The College of Progressive Education is committed to supporting people who are working in Early Childhood Care and Education.
Practitioners who wish to join the new ECCE free pre-school year scheme will need to have or will need to obtain a FETAC Level 5 or 6 Award.
For those Practitioners who have extensive experience in the provision of Early Childhood Care and Education and need to obtain the FETAC Level 5 or 6 award, the College is offering an option to obtain their qualification within one year.
The College is running the full FETAC Level 5 Childcare Award via Distance Learning starting on 11th September 2010 and finishing June 2011. A comprehensive set of programme materials will also be provided. This programme assumes learners have already acquired a good understanding of childcare. For those learners who need to acquire the skills and the award at an easier pace the College provides the FETAC Level 5 Childcare Major Award over two years.
